How the golf handicap calculator works
Each round becomes a score differential: (113 divided by slope) times (adjusted gross score minus course rating). The calculator takes your most recent 20 differentials, averages the lowest ones (the best eight when you have 20), applies the World Handicap System adjustment for fewer than five scores, and rounds to one decimal.
| Scores | Differentials used | Adjustment |
|---|---|---|
| 3 | Lowest 1 | -2.0 |
| 4 | Lowest 1 | -1.0 |
| 5 | Lowest 1 | 0 |
| 6 | Average of lowest 2 | -1.0 |
| 20 | Average of lowest 8 | 0 |
